Tracy Reese always goes back to nature for her spring collections. Her brand is called Hope for Flowers, after all, so a permanent fixation on flora makes sense. Specifically, Reese was inspired by the Piet Oudolf garden in Detroit, which opened in 2021.

The Fred A. and Barbara M. Erb Family Foundation granted $160,000 to Friends of the Oudolf Garden to install an ADA-compliant boardwalk to improve visitors’ access to and experience of Oudolf Garden Detroit’s Meadows by Lake Tacoma on Belle Isle, which is being restored with native plants.
The boardwalk will be in the East Meadow, and is currently in the Design and Permitting stage.

In late 2016, GCA Medal of Honor winner Piet Oudolf received a “love letter” from the Garden Club of Michigan asking him to design a new public garden on Detroit’s Belle Isle. In August 2022, he saw his two-year old 3.5-acre creation for the first time after international travel restrictions were lifted.
