Help plant the new Meadows at Oudolf Garden Detroit
We are transforming the previously-neglected area around the Nancy Brown Peace Carillon into a beautiful one-acre native meadow. We will be planting the Meadows with approximately 15,000 native perennials and shrubs this spring and fall.
You can help make this possible by sponsoring plants for the spring and fall plantings. Your sponsorship helps us purchase, plant and care for these plants that will enhance this public garden’s unique landscape.
In 2020 we planted the main garden with 26,000 perennials and 48,000 bulbs.
In 2021 we planted more than 4,800 perennials, shrubs, sedges and grasses in the Rain Garden. In 2022, we tended the garden and prepped for Piet’s first visit to see his masterpiece.
In 2023 we added a Piet Oudolf-designed Bird Border next to the Rain Garden.
In 2024, we are planting over 15,000 native perennials and shrubs in the East and West Meadows. Please consider sponsoring multiple plants—your tax-deductible donation helps bring this wonderful meadow to life. Make a gift in honor of friends or family, and include an optional personalized dedication.
The Oudolf Garden Detroit Grounds Crew has been working with Piet Oudolf, InSite Design Studio and Natural Community Services for the last year and a half to design this transformative space.
